Wow! This year has been absolutely crazy, but that’s why I thoroughly enjoy this experience called life because it is so unpredictable! Life is supposed to be messy, passionate and full of growth, and I am loving every minute of mine. I won Prom Queen, I graduated High School, I started a blog, I traveled to San Francisco and ate frog legs, I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease, I began planning on starting a YouTube channel, I finished my first semester of college and received an internship opportunity, and I got unbelievable results at the gym!!
I’ve done a lot of reflection on my life this year especially because I recently graduated High School and began my journey into adult-hood. I feel like I have grown in a lot of ways since I left the house, but I feel that I’ve mostly grown in my knowledge when it comes to my fitness and nutrition regime. Being able to buy my own groceries has helped me have total control when it comes to whats being put in my body. I’ve grown to have a passion for eating whole foods and making healthy things taste amazing! I actually have so much guilt when I step outside my regular diet now. Also, I’ve learned that if you want to put on muscle fast, squatting is the way to go!
With everything that I’ve learned this past year about how to properly fuel and take care of my body, my goal for 2018 is to continue to build on what I already know and work hard to achieve my nutrition and fitness goals. I downloaded the MyFitnessPal app and I’ve been trying to eat according to my protein, carbs and fats, but I always end up eating a lot of things plain because it can be so hard to manage entire recipes. My goal is to create recipes that fit in with my fitness goals so that I am not always eating chicken, rice and green beans every night! I’ve found a passion for cooking and baking, and I love the challenge of making something yummy that’s also good for you!
As far as my fitness goes, I don’t have trouble going to the gym, but I feel like I am stuck at the same weight and I struggle pushing myself. I want to increase my muscle mass specifically in my legs and booty, so that I will be bikini ready for spring break and summer!
I also made the goal of starting my own YouTube channel and I am so excited but nervous! My goal for it is to eventually become an advocate and public figure that raises awareness for Lyme disease, but I also want it to be a place where people can learn with me during my nutrition journey and get to know me during my everyday life! Nutrition is a huge part in preventing things such as the many diseases out there as well as preventing a lot of Lyme disease symptoms, so I want to stress that on my channel while being as entertaining as possible. I have set up weekly meetings with my friend Alycia Marks and I am hoping that with her help, I can be disciplined and successful!
Overall, I love who I am becoming. I am so blessed with the lessons I have learned , the perspective I have gained and the growth that I am making! I am so excited for whats to come in 2018, and I am willing to work hard and grind so that I can build a life that I LOVE to live! Cheers to the new year!
